Kristen Stewart Just Landed Another Chanel Gig
Kristen Stewart can add another Chanel gig to her resumé — the 27-year-old actress has been named the face of the French fashion house’s new perfume: Gabrielle Chanel, the first new standalone fragrance from Chanel in 15 years.
Stewart, who has been a Chanel ambassador since 2013 fronting the the Métiers d’Art collections, makeup campaigns and the brand’s current Gabrielle by Chanel bag ads, will star in the campaign set to be released in September. It will consist of a video shot by British director Ringan Ledwidge and photos by Karim Sadli.
The eau de parfum itself was composed by the brand’s in-house perfumer Olivier Polge (who has also created Misia, Boy and No. 5 L’Eau) and is described as an “abstract floral.”
The release of the new fragrance is all part of Chanel’s “Year of Gabrielle,” which celebrates Gabrielle, the first name of its founder, better known as Coco Chanel. In addition to the fragrance launch and the release of the Gabrielle bag, Chanel is also launching a series of four videos on its Inside Chanel website, focusing on the themes of rebellion, freedom, passion and allure, values that governed the life of Gabrielle.
You can watch one of the videos, “Gabrielle, A Rebel at Heart,” below.
