Kylie Jenner Cancels Paris Fashion Week Appearance Following Illness
Earlier this week, Kylie Jenner announced that she has teamed up with longtime friend Olivier Rousteing to create a Kylie Cosmetics x Balmain collection. To fete the collection, Jenner was scheduled to work backstage at the brand’s S/S20 show as the artistic director of makeup however the youngest of the Kardashian-Jenner clan has had to cancel her trip following a reported hospitalization.
Taking to Twitter, the beauty mogul told fans she is “heartbroken” to miss the event. “Hi guys! So as you know, I was getting ready to go to Paris for the Balmain show at Paris Fashion Week for the launch of my makeup collab with Olivier. Unfortunately I’m really sick and unable to travel. I’m heartbroken to be missing this show, but I know that my amazing team, and my friends who are in town for the event, will help me be there in spirit.”
The collection will be used on the models for the brand’s S/S20 show and will then be available to purchase immediately after the show.
To coincide with the news, Jenner also released the first images of the collection. It is made up of the Paris Matte Lip Kit, the Model Behaviour high Gloss and the Balmain Kyshadow Palette whose shade names have been inspired by fashion week. The overall collection was inspired by Balmain’s Fall Couture line which had a heavy pastel influence.
Of the collaboration, she said, “Creating this collection with Olivier has been a dream. Of course this collection isn’t just for the runway…I created this so that you could have a piece of this once in a lifetime event. I’m SO proud of this collection and of Olivier, and our friendship, vision and creativity really comes across in the products we created for you guys.”
The collection launches on Kyliecosmetics.com at 11am EST on Friday, September 27.
