Look Out For This Wellness-Themed Pop-up Shop Coming to Victoria
Recycled silk scrunchies, hemp-infused skincare, vegan baked goods, and a meditation station are all coming together under one roof thanks to the Harvest Moon pop-up shop in Victoria, BC this weekend.
Curated by Brooklyn-based creative consultant Paige Greene, who grew up in Victoria, the three-day pop-up shines a spotlight on local and female-owned businesses with a focus on sustainability and wellness. Brands include Woodlot, which specializes in plant-based candles, skincare and essential oils; Nuu Thing, a Vancouver-based company known for scouting out vintage homeware; and A Bronze Age, a contemporary clothing and accessories label whose shoes are handmade in Morocco and silk clothing right here in Canada.
“There is such an amazing community of independent and creative businesses in Victoria,” said Greene, whose past pop-ups have taken place in Bushwick, Brooklyn and Portland, Oregon.
Harvest Moon has been designed keeping a holistic view of wellness in mind, so in addition to thoughtfully-curated womenswear, skincare and home decor brands from across Canada, customers will find a floral altar and meditation station created by local floral design boutique Rook & Rose.
Victoria is no stranger when it comes to hosting wellness-themed events like yoga classes along Willows Beach or spiritual healing seminars like ‘Beyond Belief, Level Up.’ Harvest Moon, however, will be the first of its kind to combine various aspects of health, wellness and self-care into one. The pop-up—hosted at Upside Studios, an interdisciplinary creative studio and event space—is also partnering with local business A Very Chill Weekend to help kickstart the event by hosting a party on Friday, August 16, with dumplings, karaoke and wine tastings.
Tickets are available for the Friday night opening party, which runs from 6 to 9pm, here. The rest of the weekend runs Aug 17 and 18 from 11am-6pm, at 18½ Fan Tan Alley, Victoria. If you want to get a head start on your shopping list, though, here’s the complete list of vendors for a pre-pop-up browse.
