Lululemon is Donating all of its Profits Today

It’s International Day of Yoga and Lululemon, the brand synonymous with this lifestyle, wants to do something extra special. The company announced earlier this week they are donating 100% of profits from its in-store and online sales. The money raised will go to nonprofit groups that increase access to yoga and meditation.

The donations will be made through Here to Be, a social impact program Lululemon launched in 2016. The program aims to make yoga and meditation accessible to everyone, no matter what social, physical or economic barriers. This includes survivors of violent conflicts and trauma, veterans, people suffering from an illness or disability, at-risk youth and people who are facing systematic prejudice or bias.

The company is expected to raise more than $1 million.

International Day of Yoga was created four years ago by the United Nations. “The health benefits of yoga and meditation are undeniable,” said Celeste Burgoyne, executive vice president, Americas. “Cultural, geographical, physical and financial barriers remain today that stand in the way of people participating in yoga or meditation. Through Here to Be, Lululemon and our guests can support grassroots organizations focused on well-being in our communities around the world.”

So if you’ve been meaning to freshen up your gym wardrobe, head to Lululemon today to buy some cute new gear and make a difference at the same time. We’ve included some of our favourites below.
