Mad Men season 6: We preview Sunday’s premiere with 18 late-sixties era photos from the new season

After last season’s never-endingly delayed start, I feel a bit trained to wait a long time for a new jolt of Mad Men. So much so, that Sunday’s season 6 premiere feels like a bonus and a half. When we left Don, Megan, Roger, Joan et al in 1967, tensions were running high. There was a suicide, a puberty scare, LSD, another affair, and as always, more drinking. There were also, as always, era-correct costumes for us sartorial minded watchers to sink our teeth into.
As we first spotted with Mad Men’s season 6 preview photos released back in January, the swinging late sixties are to be embraced with sky-high bouffant hair, empire waists and sideburns so good, they incited their own mock Twitter account.
In today’s batch of preview photos released for the season’s premiere episode, we’re seeing more. Reportedly, season 6 opens with the Drapers in the midst of a Hawaiian vacation. Cue, a requisite Hawaiian button down for Don and the vaguely psychedelic printed caftan for Megan. (Cue, also, these scantily-clad photos of Jon Hamm and Jessica Paré from filming last year. Hai.) Sally’s wardrobe has changed as well, with Mad Men’s youngest style hero being shown in a bright orange mohair sweater worn overtop a green turtleneck. How very Carven.
And since there’s no such thing as too much Mad Men, we’ve added a few more photos to the mix: coloured versions of the initially black and white preview. Enjoy!
Mad Men season 6 premieres this Sunday April 7, 2013 at 9PM EST.
