Max Mara names a coat after Kate Middleton
As we’ve religiously documented over the past few years, Kate Middleton’s effect on retail is impressive to say the least. Now, Max Mara has announced that it is naming one of their beautiful demure coats after the Duchess of Cambridge.
The coat, which was worn by the Duchess when she and Prince William visited Cambridge last November (her upside-down bow belt caused quite the sensation) is now being called The Kate by the company. The wool and cashmere beige coat, complete with a high neck and a thin bow belt detail sold out immediately after being worn by the Duchess last year. Now, it’ll be available for everyone for the price of $1,397.
Though the coat is not officially affiliated with the royal family, according to British Vogue, the brand has decided to bring it back and rename it in honour of the Duchess. With nearly every piece she touches entering sellout status immediately, we’re surprised we haven’t seen more brands we love pay tribute to the Duchess.
The Kate is now available for purchase from House of Fraser.
