Meghan Markle Wore Another Canadian Designer to the Queen’s Christmas Lunch
Meghan Markle’s integration into the British Royal Family continues apace as she attended the Queen’s annual Christmas Lunch earlier today at Buckingham Palace. Traditionally, the lunch is only attended by royal relatives and their spouses, so add this to the list of royal rules that Harry and Meghan have broken!
Paparazzi photos show Markle arriving to the event wearing a beguiling yet demure high-collar black and white lace dress from Portrait, and a pair of diamond earrings. The glittering drop earrings are Snowflake Round Jacket Diamond earrings by Birks, one of the many Canadian brands that Markle is seemingly having a love affair with. She also wore Birks for her engagement photoshoot with Prince Harry, when she sported a pair of Plaisirs de Birks 18K yellow gold opal earrings, as well as at the Invictus Games in Toronto earlier this year, where she wore the Birks Rosée du Matin flex wrap ring.
Other royals in attendance for the lunch include Princess Beatrice and Eugenie, the Queen’s granddaughters whose hat game is absolutely unparalleled, the always-stylish Kate Middleton and her family, as well as Prince and Princess Michael of Kent. Here’s hoping Meghan Markle introduces the rest of the royal family to some of her favourite Canadian fashion designers. Imagine the Queen wearing Sid Neigum? Prince William wearing Klaxon Howl? Kate Middleton in Hayley Elsaesser? The mind races with possibilities.
