Famous for creating wigged-out costumes for Lady Gaga, designer and hairstylist Charlie Le Mindu often makes headlines for extremely avant-garde runway shows. (Think: nude models painted with wisps of hair.) So it came as no surprise when Le Mindu partnered with Minx for Spring 2012, delivering a collection of outfits and hairpieces constructed exclusively from more than 25,000 nail decals—in custom patterns, of course.
While Minx frequently pairs with designers for exclusive runway looks (they’ve done nails for Alexander McQueen, Alice + Olivia, and Missoni, to name a few) accessibility to these collaborations has always been non-existent. But that’s about to change: Minx just announced that for the first time ever five of their runway designs will be available to consumers.
Just in time for the holidays (stocking stuffers, anyone?) the Charlie Le Mindu–inspired Minx collection ($30, minxisfashion.com) includes three designs from Spring 2012 (“Curly Blue Hair,” “Curly Brown Hair,” and “Straight Blue Hair”) one from Fall 2011 (“Stars”) and the very McQueen-looking “Snakes,” which appeared at Le Mindu’s Spring 2011 show. But don’t spend too long deciding which pattern you want to wear first: they’re only available for a limited time.
