MTV VMAs 2017: The Most Memorable Moments
Let’s be honest: the VMA winners are never as exciting as what unfolds at the award show itself. MTV’s Video Music Awards are known for their over-the-top performances (Britney with a snake), shocking moments (Britney with Madonna), and headline-making feuds (dear Taylor, get over it). From Fifth Harmony vs. Camila Cabello, to Drake vs. Josh, to Lorde vs. the flu, here’s everything you need to know about last night’s award show.
Kendrick Lamar brought the fire
Kendrick was the night’s biggest winner, walking away with six moon men for his hit single “HUMBLE.” If anyone in the crowd was critical of his award sweep, ‘Kung Fu Kenny’ took to the stage to prove his worth, kicking off the 2017 VMAs with a fiery mash-up of his song’s “DNA” and “HUMBLE.”
Fifth Harmony threw shade at Camila
What does Fifth Harmony really think of their former bandmate Camila Cabello? Here’s a hint:
Fifth Harmony: *get mad at journalist who asks about Camila because it starts "drama between women"*

A fifth silhouette could be seen when the the foursome took the stage to perform their latest single, “Angel.” But when the beat kicked in, the fifth singer — which we can only assume is implied to be former front woman Cabello — was thrown backwards off the stage. SO. MUCH. DRAMA.
Logic, Alessia Cara & Khalid tackle mental health
With help from Alessia Cara and Khalid, Logic performed a powerful rendition of “1-800-273-8255”, a song named after the US suicide prevention hotline. The trio of artists shared the stage with near-victims of suicide, who wore “you are not alone” t-shirts and proved to everyone that survival rocks.
Lorde danced like Napoleon Dynamite
For her 2017 VMA performance, Lorde performed an interpretive dance of her song “Homemade Dynamite.”

But wait! Before you start mocking the 20-year-old’s free-spirited dancing, you should know why the singer didn’t sing. Lorde had a good reason for saving her voice and busting a move instead: during Sunday’s VMAs ceremony, Lorde had the flu. On one hand, we commend her commitment to perform. On the other, who let Lorde dance on stage with the flu?
you can't tell in these pictures but i have the flu so bad i needed an IV #showgoeson #cutelilproppedupcorpse ??

Drake and Josh squashed their beef
Remember when Josh Peck didn’t invite Drake Bell to his wedding? Drake probably does, because afterwards he tweeted: “The message is clear… Loyalty is key… ALWAYS remember where you came from.” The feud between the Drake and Josh costars blew up on social media, and everyone was bummed that their favourite 13-year-old step-brothers were no longer BFFS. Until now! Josh as Drake reunited at the VMAs, and they each shared this heart warming pic.

P!nk gave an inspiring acceptance speech
We hope you didn’t put your tissue box away just yet. Last night, the 37-year-old legend and “Raise Your Glass” singer received the 2017 Michael Jackson Vanguard Award—and rather than thanking everyone she knows, P!nk used her moment on stage to tell a touching story about her 6-year-old daughter who recently said she “was the ugliest person she knew” because she looks like “a boy with long hair.” Her response is a message we all need to hear.
