New York Fashion Week beauty: Fall 2015 buns and ponytails are crazy-chic versions of classic ‘dos
We’ve never had strong feelings about updos of the everyday variety. There’s certainly nothing wrong with a good bun or ponytail, but the styles don’t really elicit much more than a resounding “meh” or “okay, sure” from us. Let us demonstrate. “A topknot or high ponytail paired with a cute dress? Okay, sure.” After all, how many different ways can you place a knot of hair atop your head? Well, according to the New York Fashion Week Fall 2015 runways, exactly one million different ways. Consider us bun and ponytail converts.
From the extreme side ponytails at Nicholas K to the super-long (so long) ponytails at Cynthia Rowley, we think it’s safe to say that it’s time to start stocking up on hair elastics in prep for Fall 2015. Throw in the topknot at Tracy Reese that’s so severe it kind of makes our head hurt if we look at it for too long (in a good way), the accessorized pony at Derek Lam, and the sleek bun-ponytail hybrid at Victoria Beckham, and it seems we’ve got lots of practicing to do in front of the mirror this season.
As they say, “My anaconda don’t want none unless you got buns, hun.”
