All good things must come to an end, but in the case of fashion month they just keep going and going and going (and going). With things heating up in London, we wonder which New York Fashion Week trends will make their way across the pond. Here are the top 10 Fall 2015 trends we’re putting our money on this season.
1. Oversized checks
Everyone’s mad for Buffalo Plaid—our favourite downtown- girl versions included Coach, Alexander Wang and 3.1 Phillip Lim.
2. Tangerine
Quench your sartorial thirst for brights with this juicy hue spotted at Prabal Gurung, Victoria Beckham and Boss.
3. Fisherman knits
Show your salty dog side with this perfectly slouchy catch of the day. Vera Wang and Alexander Wang both showed sea-worthy styles.
4. 1970s
Retromania continues its domination next fall, with Boho cool looks at Anna Sui and BCBG Max Azria, Calvin Klein went mod with silver studded leather shifts, and Jill Stuart nailed the throwback uniform du jour—a turtleneck, a leather mini and a double breasted jacket.
5. Statement boots
Sleek patent leather styles ruled at Marc Jacobs while the 90s made a comeback at Alexander Wang via the statement combat boot.
6. Western
Kanye West sat front row at Ralph Lauren’s O.K. Corral-inspired collection so does this mean Yeezy will be going Yee-haw next fall? Lauren showed Navajo-inspired beaded pieces and plenty of suede fringe on bags and booties.
7. Bomber 2.0
Rodarte, Alexander Wang and Rag and Bone upped the cool factor of this collegiate staple by giving it a crop and a spray of high shine.
8. Lace
Altuzarra and Ralph Lauren gave the Victorian era a modern spin with chic high-neck dresses and lacey noir trousers.
9. The “Stop Traffic” fur
Bright and shaggy at Michael Kors, soft and elegant at Tibi and pastel perfection at Altuzarra—when it comes to fall’s fur coats, bigger is definitely better.
10. Buttons
Forget It bags, it’s all about buttons. From J. Crew’s sewing basket-inspired maxi skirts to Victoria Beckham’s oversized versions to Tory Burch’s sweaters and skirts, designers have put the cool into clasps.
