No more Kate Middleton spotting: The Duchess of Cambridge will begin maternity leave on July 13

As much as this pains us to report, it seems that the world will be put on hold for any Kate Middleton sightings this summer. With her July 13 due date fast approaching, the royal palace has decided to give the Duchess of Cambridge a well-deserved maternity leave.

Ever since her pregnancy was announced earlier this year, Kate Middleton has been working hard keeping up with her royal duties, which according to The Mirror, is because she preferred to work as close to her due date as possible.

Though we’re crushed to be seeing less of the Duchess, we’re happy to see that the mother-to-be is taking extra precautions to make sure her responsibilities as a mom come first. Luckily, she’ll be making one more public appearance before beginning on maternity leave, attending the the naming ceremony for the Princess Cruises’ 3,600-passenger Royal Princess in Southampton. Following in the glamorous footsteps of Princess Diana and Audrey Hepburn, she will christen the ship with a few words.

We can’t wait to see what a very pregnant Kate Middleton will wear at this historical event. Maybe she’ll dress up in a nautical themed outfit like Princess Diana in 1984? We guess we’ll have to see!
