Pat McGrath & The Met Have Launched an Exclusive Makeup Collaboration

Makeup artist Pat McGrath has exclusively teamed up with The Met to sell a limited edition makeup collection from her self-titled brand, Pat McGrath Labs. This partnership marks the first time that the Metropolitan Museum of Art has ever sold makeup in their exhibition gift shops, and they couldn’t have chosen a more iconic partner when making their debut into the beauty industry.

The collaboration includes a new pearly pink lipgloss with a duo chrome finish called Aliengelic ($28), an extension of her highly anticipated Lust Gloss collection and a special edition version of her eyeshadow palette called Mothership IV: Decadence ($125), which features rich blue, gold and silver hues. Packaging for both products were inspired by paintings from Renaissance and Baroque periods that are predominantly on display in The Met’s newest exhibition, “Heavenly Bodies.”

Along with her makeup collection, The Met will also be selling Pat McGrath merchandise, which will include limited edition unisex short-sleeved shirts ($62) and long-sleeved shirts ($82). In her official statement, Pat said “The Costume Institute’s exhibitions are legendary, and I am thrilled to be able to present this exclusive range of products inspired by this prestigious exhibition. Religious history and artifacts have always been vital influences on my work, and it is an extraordinary honour for me to be unveiling these new pieces alongside this breathtaking exhibition as the first-ever beauty brand at New York’s iconic Met Store.”

All of the products launch today and will be available at the Met Fifth Avenue store, with select items being available at The Met Cloisters, and if you won’t be in NYC any time soon, the collaboration will also be available online.
