People Are Gluing Dead Scorpions Onto Their Nails and Calling It Nail Art
If you’re not into insects, this is your last chance to click away before you see something that might seriously freak you out.
Scorpion nails sounds like a trend involving some intricately done nail art using painting tools…but no. The trend currently blowing up Instagram goes something like this: a base coat (clear or colour), followed by a dead scorpion (stinger still attached and everything) applied to the nail with tweezers, and then a top coat of acrylic paste to hold the DEAD INSECTS down. Scorpion nails originated in Mexico, where the scorpions are from. The manicures haven’t made their way up to Canada or the U.S. yet, so for now you’ll have to stick to admiring the look from afar on Instagram.
We’ll probably just stick to glitter nail polish and negative space (or hell, even succulent nails), but check out the scorpion nails trend in action below.
