Phoebe Waller-Bridge is Auctioning Off Her Ralph & Russo Suit in Aid of the Australian Bushfire Relief Efforts
At the 2020 Golden Globes, there were a few celebrities that caught the eye of just about every one in the FASHION team. One such person, was Fleabag’s Phoebe Waller-Bridge. The effortlessly cool British actress looked just that in her tweed suit from Ralph & Russo – so much so that it had us saving it as suiting inspo for when the weather warms up. If, like us, you were enamoured with the look, then you’ll be equally as pleased to know that we all now have an opportunity to bid on the suit. Waller-Bridge has teamed up with eBay to auction off the suit in aid of the Australian bushfire relief efforts.
In a statement, the actress said, “I’m very excited that this stunning, one of a kind, couture tuxedo created by Australian geniuses Ralph & Russo will continue its journey by contributing to this urgent cause. If money raised by its auction can help raise funds to fight the disaster in Australia, the future impact of this suit will be far greater than the luck it brought me and the Fleabag team at the Golden Globes last weekend. To add to its allure… I spent most of the night brushing it past and rubbing it up against all the sparkly people I could find. These threads are laced with legends!”

The auction comes with the full support of Tamara Ralph and Michael Russo, the Australian design duo behind the UK-base label. “It is with a heavy heart that we watch and hear the news of the terrible fires currently engulfing such large areas of our homeland,” they said in a statement. “With Australia remaining so close to our hearts, we are delighted to stand next to Phoebe to support relief efforts with this special auction.”
The tuxedo is from the brand’s A/W19 collection and is made with Black Chantilly lace tailleur with a silk duchess tuxedo lapel and a geometric black and gold ribbon appliqué. It has been autographed by the Golden Globe winner and the brand has said in a statement that it will offer “additional fabric to the winning bidder if needed.”
The auction is now live – with bidding open to Canadians – and will run until Sunday, January 19. The starting bid is roughly CAD$70,000. Money raised from the auction will be split equally between the Australian Red Cross Disaster Relief & Recovery Fund, WIRES Wildlife Rescue Emergency Fun and Wildlife Victoria.
