Prince Harry Reportedly Doesn’t Want a Big, Fancy Wedding
While we, along with the rest of the world, anxiously await for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to get engaged (seriously, when is it going to happen?!), we’re also getting ourselves prepped for a Royal Wedding.
When Harry’s older brother, Prince William, married the Duchess of Cambridge in 2011, it was quite the public affair, televised around the world for royal watchers to witness.
However, it looks like things may be a different should Harry and Meghan get married. A source close to the 33-year-old royal reportedly told Us Weekly “pomp and pageantry is the last thing he would want.”
“I can see him wanting to get married at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle,” the source continued. “It would stop it from turning into a total media circus and give the day a sense of privacy that Harry so badly craves.”
A second source added, “They will most likely hold a small photo call at Kensington Palace, with just one photographer and a journalist invited. On the same day, they’ll do a TV interview that will be syndicated around the world.”
Unfortunately for Brits, if the wedding is a more private affair, the U.K. won’t be granted a Bank Holiday on the day of the wedding, according to the Express.
But while Harry’s wedding may not be the extravaganza that was his brother’s, that doesn’t mean it won’t still be a family affair. When asked if Queen Elizabeth II would be in attendance, the source told Us Weekly, “Of course. No question.” And given he’s, you know, a royal, and Markle is a famous actress, even a low-key wedding for these two is bound to be pretty damn magical.
We. Can’t. Wait.
