Rodarte may or may not be teaming up with Dakota and Elle Fanning
How much did we adore the Fanning sisters’ gowns at the Met Gala last Monday? We loved the winged back, the sheer panels and the tie-dye. We loved it all. Well, rumour has it 19-year-old Dakota and 15-year-old Elle Fanning may be heading to the drawing board and teaming up to work with Rodarte designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy.
We love a good collab and when two sisters pair up with two sisters, it is mind blowing. They haven’t hit their 20s and the sisters already have designer campaigns like Marc Jacobs and Miu Miu under their respective belts. Dakota even once stated how much her little sister Elle appreciates fashion: “Elle knows every single model, every single collection, every single piece from every single collection… She has a real passion, and it’s not at all in a materialistic way. She genuinely appreciates the workmanship and creativity.” So it’s no surprise to see this superstar pair wishing to cross over to the other side to input some of their ideas into the design. And according to a fashion mole at Daily Mail, the Fanning sisters were quite “hands on” in designing their stunning Met Gala dresses last Monday.
Though a Rodarte rep has already stepped forward to squash the rumours, we’re still holding out hope. This kind of thing has been denied into reality before. Let’s cross those fingers.
