Royal wedding countdown: Day 18
Two very different kinds of royalty have weddings coming up⎯fashion, and the real kind. In the battle of the two Kates, we compare the weddings of both Miss Moss and Middleton, to see how they measure up.
The guests
Moss: A who’s who of fashion and music⎯Jefferson Hack, Beth Ditto, Vivienne Westwood, Daphne Guinness, members of the Rolling Stones, Naomi Campbell.
Middleton: The royal fam, plus Paul McCartney, Elton John and the Beckhams.
The dress
Moss: Galliano rumours having been put to rest, we can only speculate… Vivienne Westwood? McQueen? Lacroix?
Middleton: Another mystery! McQueen? Bruce Oldfield? We most likely will be kept guessing until the big day.
The Menu
Moss: Plenty of cocktails and cigarettes. You were expecting food?
Middleton: Champagne, fruitcake, smoked salmon, canapés, traditional British foods.
The Reception
Moss: Dancing until dawn, or longer. Everyone has heard the 36-hour-long birthday party stories.
Middleton: Finger food and uncomfortable royal small talk.
The soundtrack
Moss: She’s been rumoured to have asked Led Zep, Kanye, Shirley Bassey and The Clash to play.
Middleton: The Welsh Guards will play upon the couple’s arrival to the Palace,
The bon voyage get-up
Moss: A vintage fur chubby, accompanying a silk slip or the tatters of what’s left of her wedding dress.
Middleton: A Burberry trench over top an Issa wrap-dress.
The honeymoon
Moss: St. Tropez⎯the perfect location for the most decadent kind of hedonism and indulgence.
Middleton: Amid the rumoured locations are the Isles of Scilly, or where Wills popped the question: Kenya.
