Sarah Burton hints at designing Kate Middleton’s maternity wardrobe. We pick 5 customizable Alexander McQueen looks

Yesterday, an extremely pregnant—seven months to be exact—Sarah Burton was made an Officer of the British Empire for her contributions to British Fashion or as we’d like to think, for designing the wedding dress of Kate Middleton.
Burton’s designs for Alexander McQueen have become a go-to for the Duchess of Cambridge and right before Kate’s pregnancy announcement, she was spotted in a custom made McQueen coat while playing field hockey—an unofficial pregnancy look.
There is a glimmer of hope that Burton will design official pregnancy outfits for the Duchess (perhaps while offering her some pregnancy tips?) because when asked by The Telegraph if she’d be creating any custom pieces, Burton responded, “I hope I will be.”
Burton was awarded the OBE by Prince Charles and told the Press Association that she “said congratulations for the Duke and Duchess, I’m over the moon for them.” Just like the rest of the world.
While Kate is currently resting at Kensington Palace, we (im)patiently await her next appearance but until the Duchess is well again, we’ve selected a couple of Alexander McQueen pieces that we think the duchess would look lovely in.
