Snapped by Tommy Ton: “It’s all about texture and cut”
“This is the perfect transitional look between winter and spring. I love the cut and the fit and the weight of the turtleneck with the skirt and pumps. It looks very polished. I love neutral tone-on-tone looks. This trend sprung from Céline Fall 2013, where there were a lot of neutral layers. It’s refreshing to wear muted colours like oatmeal or pale pink or blue and not feel that it’s for a specific season. A clean slate where there’s no complication of pattern or ornamentation. It’s all about texture and cut—that’s very chic. I don’t usually spotlight bloggers, because they tend to dress for the camera, but what I like about Pernille is that every look she wears is aspirational. What she puts together is something you’d want to go out, buy and replicate. The sense of proportion—the length of the skirt, the slit, the oversized, cozy sweater—isn’t necessarily French; it’s international. Everything is executed perfectly. This could easily be worn by a working woman or a mother pushing her stroller.”
