Solar Eclipse 2017: How Hollywood Got In On The Astro Action

ICYMI: there was a solar eclipse. Which means Bonnie Tyler’s “Total Eclipse of the Heart” is up 500% in sales on iTunes, and the rest of North America is down 500% (apx.) in workplace productivity.

This wasn’t the first total eclipse (America last had one in 1979), and it won’t be the last total eclipse (there will be another one April 8, 2024)—so why the big deal? Well, it was the first total solar eclipse to take place in the era of Internet culture. This meant the world was just as busy sharing their solar experience as they were trying not to look directly at the sun.

Because celebs are just like us, they got in on the eclipse fever: they baked cookies, made dad jokes, and wore dorky protective glasses. Here’s a roundup of the best celebrity reactions to the historical space event.
