Sorry World, Adele is Never Going to Tour Again
If you’ve never had the opportunity to see Adele perform live, it looks like it might never happen. (We know, never say never, but…) The 15-time Grammy award-winning songstress hinted that her 25 tour may indeed be her last.
Earlier this year, the 28-year-old bravely spoke out about her stage fright and insinuated that she was not going to go on tour again.
“Touring isn’t something I’m good at—applause makes me feel a bit vulnerable. I don’t know if I will ever tour again,” she told fans during her performance in Auckland, New Zealand, which, naturally, caused people all over the world (us included) to panic.
While we wishfully thought her anxiety might have gotten better in the past few months, her latest tour in London may have confirmed that the Academy Award-winning singer would stick to her word. Despite the record-breaking turnouts at each and every one of her concerts, in a handwritten note inserted in the program for her final show in Wembley Stadium in London, Adele told fans that she doesn’t know if she’ll ever tour again.
The singer started off her letter by reminiscing about her 25 tour, which, by the way, broke records (and the Internet) in regards to the top tours in 2016, according to Stubhub. “So this is it. After 15 months on the road and 18 months of 25 we are at the end. We have taken this tour across UK + Ireland, throughout Europe, all over America and I finally got to go to Australia and New Zealand too.”
She then went on to talk about how touring still gives her a bit of anxiety, however she pulled through for the fans. “Touring is a peculiar thing, it doesn’t suit me particularly well. I’m a real homebody and I get so much joy in the small things. Plus I’m dramatic and have a terrible history of touring. Until now that is! I’ve done 119 shows and these last 4 will take me up to 123, it has been hard out an absolute thrill and pleasure to have done. I only ever did this tour for you and to hopefully have an impact on you the way that some of my favourite artist have had on me live.”

The songstress finished off with a touching note about why she wanted to wrap up the leg of the tour in London. “And I wanted my final shows to be in London because I don’t know if I’ll ever tour again and so I want my last time to be at home. Thank you for coming, for all of your ridiculous love and kindness. I will remember all of this for the rest of my life. Love you. Goodnight for now. ️Adele”
It looks like we might need to cross “See Adele Live” off our bucket lists once and for all.
