Nothing says badass quite like getting a tattoo for the hell of it, which is exactly what several west enders did this week in honour of the return of local-bred gods Death from Above 1979. The two-day pop up hit Toronto’s Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art, acting as a makeshift tattoo parlour, merch shop and stage for duo Jesse Keeler and Sebastien Granger to kill all hopes of hearing past age 80 with deafening, mosh-inducing renditions of their ’04-era dance punk ragers as well as a few new songs off their upcoming album The Physical World (it’s currently streaming on iTunes). While not everyone in attendance chose to get inked on the fly, most sported one form of doodle from skulls to tombstones to just your average piglet/child hybrid.
