Beauty most wanted: Sugar-free Cake
Photography by Carlo Mendoza We love Cake Un-Sweet Supreme Body Mousse ($22, cakebeauty.com), because although we’ve yet to meet a baked good we didn’t devour, we don’t always want to smell like we spent the night with a cupcake.

Beauty most wanted: Black magic
Photography by Carlo Mendoza When that 10 a.m. shine becomes a ’round-the-clock problem in summer, soak up the slick with Sephora Collection Bamboo Charcoal Blotting Paper ($10, at Sephora).

Beauty most wanted: Nina Ricci L’Air
Photography by Carlo Mendoza An homage to 1948’s iconic L’Air du Temps, Nina Ricci L’Air (from $80, at the Bay) aspires to capture the scent of freedom with a blend of magnolia, freesia and Bulgarian rose. Housed in a pastel-washed version of the original bottle, it’s capped with the classic intertwined doves.

Beauty most wanted: Hand in hand with Lush
Photography by Carlo Mendoza In its early days, Lush couldn’t afford bottles for its shampoos, so it made a hard copy of its hair wash that didn’t need a vessel. The brand’s latest compact offering, Tiny Hands Solid Serum ($6, lush.ca), features a skin-softening trifecta—shea butter, aloe and argan oil. We were skeptical, but when we rubbed the bar between our palms, it totally worked.

Beauty most wanted: The straightening treatment
Photography by Carlo Mendoza Ever since Health Canada red flagged Brazilian blowouts, finding a salon that offers the straightening treatment feels like undercover spy work. An accessible (and formaldehyde-free) alternative, Living Proof Straight Styling Hairspray ($34, at Sephora) is an aerosol version of polyfluoroester—the MIT-born hair-smoothing molecule that blocks frizz in the face of humidity.

Beauty most wanted: Refreshing hair rinse
Photography by Carlo Mendoza “You start to lose pigment after 14 days,” explains Clairol Colour Director Marie Robinson, referring to the unfortunate fade that occurs after colouring hair.
-
Beauty most wanted: Edible arrangement
Photography by Carlo Mendoza If it’s true that women consume at least four pounds of lipstick in their lifetime, let’s make the most of that nauseating stat. Bite Beauty lip products (from $21, at Sephora) are laced with the antioxidant resveratrol—a Dr. Oz fave found in red wine—and boast food-grade ingredients, like the bits of pomegranate in this multi- purpose balm.

Beauty most wanted: The steal
Photography by Carlo Mendoza With all of the nail trends of late, we can’t stay faithful to one shade. Mark Nailed It Mini Nail Lacquers ($8 for a set of two, avon.ca) in “Stay Neutral” and “Fuchsia-istic” come in baby bottles, so they’ll be finished before we get bored of them.

Beauty most wanted: Hermès
Photography by Carlo Mendoza Raise the roof
Hermès perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena has used India, Egypt and the Mediterranean as muses for the garden perfume series. This time he looked closer to home for inspiration. Un Jardin sur le Toit ($145, at Hermès) smells like the magnolia-infused air in Paris and the green-apple tree that grows on the rooftop above the luxe label’s headquarters. -
