No rest for the wicked
With just over a year under my Miu Miu belt covering parties for fashionmagazine.com, this fashionable girl was thrilled to accompany editor-in-chief Ceri Marsh to the Design Exchange Black & White gala (possibly our swankiest outing yet!) honouring Canadian designer mavericks, Pink Tartan’s Kimberley Newport-Mimran and Joe Fresh Style’s Joe Mimran.

Montreal: Fashion week wrap-up
Cold breeze blowing in from the ocean front (alright, alright river front), no parking to be found, girls tripping in the cracks of the old paved street with their high heels, and a hot red carpet inviting us to the Marché Bonsecours: Yep, we’ve made it to another Fashion Week!

Ready, set, show
{FASHION WEEK SPRING 2009 TORONTO}
Right on the haute heels of the international Spring 2009 ready-to-wear collections comes Toronto’s L’Oréal Fashion Week (October 20 to 25). A trendy time of year when editors, fashionistas and tastemakers alike come together at Nathan Phillips Square for a week of fresh fashion and fabulous parties.

Vancouver springs forward
As New York, London, and Milan fashion weeks wrap up for another season, Vancouver recently hosted its very own sartorial celebration, BC Fashion Week. While the line-up was fairly disappointing–particularly because local favourites such as Evan & Dean, Mellinda-Mae Harlingten, and Christina Darling chose either to show only in Toronto or, alas, not at all–those […]

Montreal: Fashion Week fast approaching
Montreal Fashion Week is almost here. Taking over the Bonsecours Market in old Montreal (October 13 to 17, montrealfashionweek.ca), the 15th edition of the event is more daring than ever, presenting many young, hip up-and-coming designers as well as the classic, timeless warriors, such as Marie Saint-Pierre, Helmer and many others. Rock ‘n’ Rowe
In contrast to her stark white collection from spring ’08, Ashley Rowe has taken a dramatic departure for fall with a collection simply titled “black.” With an invite from the former FASHION intern to the Miss Rowe trunk show taking place October 4th at Exhibition Place (285 Manitoba Dr) and all the buzz surrounding her label, I was eager to check out what she would have in store.

I got my new shoes at…Geox?
When you think of Geox shoes, stylish, swanky footwear isn’t what normally comes to mind—try granny-variety loafers and not-so-chic driving shoes as images that pop up instead.

Vancouver’s red carpet
“In a notoriously laid-back city, it’s nice to see a bit of red carpet glamour,” said Maggie Langrick, the new arts editor at the Vancouver Sun and my co-judge for this year’s Best Dressed on the Red Carpet at the Leo Awards. We were being asked what was the best part of being asked to present this award, and her words were spot on.

Back to life!
Sorry for abandoning you, dear readers, but I was buried under a mountain of veils, foam wedding cakes, $20,000 diamonds and countless dresses and bouquets. Yes, it’s production time for Mariage Québec and your poor Montreal editor doesn’t have a life!
