Taylor Swift Unveils ‘Lover’ Merch Collaboration With Stella McCartney
Taylor Swift has turned her hand to designing, teaming up with British icon Stella McCartney on a merch collection to fête the launch of her upcoming album, Lover.
Taylor posted the entire lookbook for the collection on her website overnight and at first look it’s very much in keeping with the theme of her first singles from the album — namely a rainbow of pastel colours and tie-dye pieces.
Staying true to Stella’s sustainable approach to design, each of the pieces (whose prices are yet to be revealed) in the collection have been made from eco-friendly materials. In addition to the bright colourways, the pieces also feature lyrics from the album as well as images of Benjamin Button, Swift’s famed cat. There are tees, sweatshirts, dresses, totes, caps and more on offer.
Announcing the collaboration on Instagram, the singer wrote, “#StellaxTaylorSwift is coming soon. It’s been SO much fun to work/dream up cute stuff with my friend @stellamccartney to create a line inspired by my new album Lover. Can’t wait to show you what we’ve been working on…”. The pair has been friends for a while, with Swift telling WWD, “She’s been a friend for a really long time and just a woman I respect so much. I respect what she creates, how she creates it and there’s so much whimsy and imagination and romance to the clothing she designs.”
The unisex apparel will go on sale on August 23, the same day Lover officially drops. Fans will be able to purchase all the pieces at a dedicated pop-up shop in New York from August 23-25. Plus, the bomber jacket ($2,645) and bag ($1,055), both of which are limited edition, will be available to buy in-store at Stella McCartney boutiques. More will be revealed in a YouTube Live event, hosted by Swift, tomorrow at 5pm. Stay tuned.
