Teambuy.ca encourages group retail therapy
Online shopping has gotten to be a bit of a problem for me—my last 30-minute troll through Shopbop (shopbop.com) resulted in a shopping cart with, er, 32 items. What’s made matters worse is that I recently discovered TeamBuy.ca (teambuy.ca), a website that recently launched in Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal, and uses the recent phenomenon of group buying to offer deals on everything from restaurants to fashion and accessory boutiques. But rewind—group what? I was confused too, but basically, this online phenomenon is where a shopping site offers a deal, and as long as the stated minimum number of people agree to the deal, the deal’s on! Along with the millions of fashion blogs I read everyday, TeamBuy.ca is now one of my regulars. Here’s why: I recently scored these lace-up Minnetonka moccasin boots for $65. Sure, it may be the middle of summer, but who am I to pass on a fashion steal?
