The Anti-Neutral Colour That’s Replacing Millennial Pink

Fuchsia, the highly-saturated bold pink shade, seems to be stealing this season’s fashion spotlight — and possibly kicking millennial pink out of the door for good. The Barbie-esque tint is traditionally associated with blooming spring and summer, but we’re ready for the vivid hue to shoot some liveliness into our stark winter wardrobes.  Ulla Johnson’s Fall 2018 collection perfectly exemplified how the shade can be worn in colder days with a fuzzy knitted fuchsia sweater worn with a thick vivid scarf. Marni also included the hue in the form of oversized trousers daringly paired with a bright purple vest layered on a rich green t-shirt. On the opposite side, Alexander Wang proposed a much more structured number, namely a tweed playsuit, paired with sheer stockings, reinventing the traditional ‘corporate chic’ attire.

Not to mention, the hue has also recently been sported by major trend setters such as Kim Kardashian, Beyoncé and Jennifer Lopez. These street style snaps prove that fuchsia really has come a real long way since ‘80s fitness garments.
