Now that summer has finally arrived, I’m swapping out my foundations and BB creams for illuminating moisturizers to achieve a dewy, no-makeup makeup look. But since I’m prone to redness and occasional blemishes, concealer is still necessary.
My pick for the warmer months: lightweight versions that offer sheer to light coverage without caking so my skin appears as natural as possible. By no means do these concealers do the work of their heavy-duty counterparts (really stubborn zits will require something with better coverage), but they look and feel as if I’m wearing no makeup at all. And really, if summer means wearing less layers of clothing, the same should go with makeup, right?

Benefit Cosmetics Boi-ing Airbrush Concealer
($27, Sephora)
A concealer that leaves you looking airbrushed, yet still somehow makeup-free seems impossible, right? Wrong. This whipped version of Benefit’s iconic boi-ing concealer is ultra light and covers minor imperfections while still letting your skin shine through. It’s also great for layering overtop of heavier coverage concealers (you know, for those stubborn blemishes), for a more natural look.

Glossier Stretch Concealer
($18, Glossier)
Boy Brow may be the cult fave Glossier product, but there’s something to be said about the brand’s Stretch Concealer. The name says it all, really. It does, indeed, have this sort of stretchy quality (thanks to the elastic consistency of beeswax and microcrystalline wax), making it super blendable and easy to apply. Bonus points for the dewy sheen it leaves on your skin.

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer
($37, Sephora)
A beauty editor-fave, NARS’ Radiant Creamy Concealer is well-loved for its lightweight, creamy formula that can easily be layered for more coverage. It is ultra-hydrating, however, meaning it’s best for drier skin types.

It’s called “Un” Cover-Up for a reason — subtle coverage is the key feature of this celeb-fave natural concealer, as is the luminous finish it gives to your skin (thank you, coconut oil!).

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Concealer
($18, ulta.com)
This concealer is new to the scene, but it’s already receiving rave reviews. Though the hydrating core design isn’t new, Neutrogena’s version outperforms its counterparts. This stick glides on like butter and the creamy formula is super blendable. As for the finish? Soft powder that isn’t too matte, meaning you can still rock that dewy (but not greasy!) look.
