The Cambridges arrive in Australia and Kate Middleton looks like ray of sunshine in Roksanda Ilincic

Sorry, we’ve been staring at Prince George’s chunky little legs all morning. Even Kate Middleton called him a “very podgy baby” this week (a posh way of saying pudgy, really) and who are we to disagree? That kid has adorable on lock! Which is probably why yesterday the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge spent their last day in New Zealand away from the public, doing their own thing with Baby George. However, today the royal tour is back on, and with it, two new looks from Kate Middleton.
This morning the Cambridges arrived in Australia, landing in sunny Sydney—likely a nice change from all the rain in New Zealand—and Kate’s yellow and white Roksanda Ilincic dress was an excellent complement to the weather. The dress is said to be a custom-made version of one in a reverse colourway from the designer’s Spring 2014 collection. Yellow-slash-gold is also one of Australia’s national colours, so there’s further meaning behind the outfit choice. Kate wore her neutral LK Bennett pumps with the dress, a pairing we’re not really feeling. A brightly coloured shoe would have been much more interesting, or even just white heels! Other accessories included her Cartier watch, Annoushka pearl earrings and a pendant necklace by Mappin and Webb.
Prior to arriving in Australia, Will and Kate spent the time before their flight hanging out with puppies!!! Yes, you read that correctly: the couple’s last engagement in Wellington was with the Royal New Zealand Police College. Should you ever be invited to hang out with police dogs in training and are wondering what to wear, take some tips from Kate. Her Rebecca Taylor tweed suit has enough texture to ensure no stray dog hairs show, while still being formal enough for an afternoon spent with the police.
