The coolest ink on display at the ROM’s new tattoo exhibit
The Royal Ontario Museum’s latest exhibit, Tattoos: Ritual. Identity. Obsession. Art opened this past Saturday and no matter what your opinion on body ink may be, this exhibit is not to be missed. Here from the musée du quai Branly in Paris, it explores the 5000-year-old art of tattooing, from ancient tools to current-day practices. You can also find silicone body representations that have been inked by some of the most well-known and respected tattoo artists in the world.
Tattoos will be on display at the ROM until September 5th, so you have all summer to check it out, along with a variety of other events like documentary screenings and anthropological discussions.
Below, we’ve highlighted some of the standout pieces that are currently on display. Need some more inspo? Check out some of the coolest ink spotted on the streets of Toronto here.
