The Duchess of Sussex’s Green Staud Maxi is Now Available to Buy
During the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s royal tour of South Africa last year, one thing became abundantly clear: Meghan loves a shirt dress. During the 10-day trip, Meghan was spotted in an array of practical-for-every-occasion pieces that were at once work trip-appropriate and elegant. One of the pieces that garnered the most attention was the khaki green maxi dress she wore to visit the country’s oldest mosque on day two of the tour.
At the time, it was revealed that the piece was by LA-based label Staud. Founded by Sarah Staudinger and George Augusto in 2015, the brand has become known for its expertise in creating timeless wardrobe staples. The Millie Dress – the official style name of Meghan’s dress – is an excellent example of that.
Made using 100 per cent recycled nylon, the floor-length piece is finished with two front pockets, a front button closure and a belt.
When Meghan first wore the piece, it was unavailable for purchase, as it had only been shown as part of the brand’s S/S20 collection mere weeks before. However it has now become available on Net-a-Porter, as well as on the brand’s own website. The Duchess, who was recently the subject of a new documentary exploring her move to Canada with Prince Harry, styled the piece with nude flats from Sam Edelman and a cream headscarf.
In addition the Staud piece, Meghan also wore shirt dress looks from Candian brands Aritzia and Room 502, as well as Veronica Beard. If you’re feeling inspired to add a piece to your wardrobe, you can check out our edit of 10 of the best shirt dresses to buy now.
