The First La Maison Valmont in North America Opens in Vancouver
Swiss beauty brand Valmont has opened their first North American standalone location in Vancouver’s Oakridge Centre. “If I had to choose somewhere else to live, it would be here,” says CEO Didier Guillon as to why he selected the City of Glass for this fourth location that follows Berlin, Hong Kong and Tokyo. The concept of these flagships, referred to as “La Maison”, is to allow customers a deep dive into the brand portfolio, including their eponymous line, premium Elixir des Glaciers line and Italian Il Profvmo fragrances. Makeup is also covered with By Terry products.
In keeping with the brand’s origins—it was borne 32 years ago out of a health clinic in Montreux, Switzerland—there are two private rooms tucked behind that retail space for face, hair and body treatments. The crème de la crème is a head-to-toe experience which lasts a decadent 150 minutes and incorporates their signature Butterfly Movement technique developed to activate micro circulation and stimulate the lymphatic system.
Beyond beauty, the gleaming white and gold space features objects and art—such as Murano glass by the Sent sisters and paintings by Germany’s El Bocho—collected by owners Didier and his wife Sophie Guillon. Fittingly, Mr. Guillon looks to bring in works by Vancouver artists.
