Everyone knows the real revelling happens after the party, and the notoriously raucous Met Gala is no exception. I mean, if you show up to fashion’s biggest night dressed as a cat, that means you’re ready to let loose at the Met Gala after-parties, no?

The 2023 Met Gala, which honoured the work and legacy of Karl Lagerfeld, presented a red carpet replete with vintage Chanel, wedding gowns (an homage to the late designer’s tradition of closing each Chanel couture show with an elaborate bridal look), tributes to Choupette, and design signatures like pearls, tweed and 3D flowers. Naturally, this made for quite a cohesive Met Gala red carpet where most attendees understood the assignment. Thankfully, the famous guests seemed to also take the *unofficial* Met Gala after-party assignment to heart, too, where the dress code was short, skin-baring, and extra sassy. EmRata taught us:
