The Most Spectacular High Jewellery Pieces From Paris Haute Couture Week
Paris, je t’aime!
Between the stunning shows and the epic street style, Paris Haute Couture Week is a whirlwind of all things fabulous—jewellery included. Besides the couture runway shows, the jam packed schedule (which wrapped on Wednesday) also includes the latest high jewellery collections (a.k.a. haute joaillerie) from luxury brands like Bulgari, Chanel and Chopard. These fantastical one-of-a-kind creations bring innovation, artistry and superior craftsmanship into the spotlight during Paris Haute Couture week. The presentations are pretty spectacular, too; they’re like stepping into a fairytale IRL.
Bulgari’s recent high jewellery fête included dreamy table settings with crystal glassware overflowing with bejeweled bracelets and cutlery speared with the house’s new birthday cake rings.
Now that the couture collections have wrapped and the fashion set has jetted off to enjoy a summer siesta (the fall shows start heating up in September), it’s the perfect time to bask in the glow of the jaw-dropping jewels on display this past week in Paris. From Chopard’s dreamy vision of Asia to Piaget’s Amalfi Coast-inspired treasures, we’ve rounded up the most dazzling high jewellery pieces from Haute Couture Week 2018 below.
Chanel’s latest high jewellery collection is inspired by founder Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel’s journey aboard The Flying Cloud, the yacht of the Duke of Westminster. The nautical-inspired fine fare includes a sailor’s rope necklace reimagined in gold and diamonds and sparkling marine motif statement rings.
Bulgari’s FESTA high jewellery collection captures the spirit of Italy—even red hot chili peppers and olives are transformed into bejeweled pieces glittering with rubellites, amethysts, peridots and more. If you have a sweet tooth, the playful popsicle brooches dotted with diamonds are the ultimate indulgence.
Chopard’s dreamy vision of Asia included colourful chandelier earrings “embroidered” with jewels and a white diamond collar necklace featuring a removable 36 carat emerald.
Inspired by the scenic beauty of the Amalfi Coast, Piaget’s Sunlight Journey high jewellery collection includes an innnovative diamond cuff timepiece and an array of necklaces featuring gems like blue sapphire (Coco Rocha wore one of these stunning pieces to the launch party).
Dior’s latest high jewellery collection, Dior À Versailles Côté Jardins takes inspiration from the super luxe gardens of the Sun King, Louis XIV. The vibrant 62-piece line-up (29 of them are one-of-a-kind) is pure magic. Starting with a sketch, see how these breathtaking creations come to life here.
Chaumet est une fête celebrates universal joie de vivre and the Parisian art of living. The luxury French house launched its new high jewellery collection in style with a circus-style party that included a carousel and games. Featuring several jewellery themes, such as the Pastorale anglaise set (a reinterpretation of the Scottish tartan motif), the sparkling fare was revealed on a mirrored merry-go-round runway.
Boucheron’s Hiver Impérial collection transports us to the Far East’s vast stretches of snow covered land. Snowflakes and frozen waterfalls magically morph into the diamonds, pearls and precious stones of this high jewellery collection. Highlights include the icy chic white gold pieces featuring diamonds and rock crystals.
