The Taylor Swift documentary is slated for a Sundance premiere
It’s official: there’s a documentary about Taylor Swift hitting Netflix next year. According to a press release, the film, titled Taylor Swift: Miss Americana, will be “a raw and emotionally revealing look at one of the most iconic artists of our time during a transformational period in her life as she learns to embrace her role not only as a songwriter and performer but as a woman harnessing the full power of her voice.” Swift alluded to the film last month during her feud with Scooter Braun over her performance at the American Music Awards. “This isn’t the way I had planned on telling you this news – Netflix has created a documentary about my life for the past few years,” she wrote in a lengthy Facebook post. “Scott and Scooter have declined the use of my older music or performance footage for this project, even though there is no mention of either of them or Big Machine Records anywhere in the film.” The documentary will open the Sundance Film Festival in January and be released globally on Netflix in early 2020.
