The Outnet will (finally!) start selling beauty products this fall

The Outnet has always been our source for designer goods at marked down prices. It’s the site we go to make us feel better after browsing the older (and pricier) sister Net-A-Porter. But come October 25th (just in time for the holidays!), our go-to discount shopping site won’t just be your fashion discount destination. Following Net-A-Porter’s footsteps, TheOutnet.com will be officially carrying your luxury beauty faves.

However, before you go and pop open that champagne, The Outnet’s beauty department won’t actually be selling skincare and makeup at discount prices. “We didn’t want to offer off-price beauty,” says Andres Sosa, director of global sales and marketing at The Outnet to WWD. “We wanted to see how can we be true to the DNA of everything we do and try and find something exclusive to us that no one else had.”

So will it just be another beauty e-commerce site we bookmark in our browsers? Not exactly. Instead of selling individually-packed products, The Outnet will be offering a series of beauty kits from 18 indie/niche beauty brands (Lipstick Queen, By Terry, 111 Skin– to name a few). Think subscription beauty boxes that contain current-season, full-size beauty products you can check out and pick-up in store. Ranging from $22 to over $500, these boxes are said to retail at 20 to 30 percent less than what the products would cost on its own (e.g. Natura Bisse sets that would originally set you back $655 will only cost you $524!).

It looks like our Christmas shopping just got a whole lot sweeter.
