With TIFF kicking off the same week as Fashion’s Night Out, it would seem there’s no rest for the wicked. Cocktail parties, movies and red carpets aside, there are plenty of ways to amuse yourself this weekend, ranging from bevvies and jazz in a Montreal gallery to hobnobbing with a knighted Rocket Man at Holts. Friday Nocturnes
The Jazz Amnesty Sound System plays the first of this fall’s Friday Nocturnes at the Musée d’art contemporain de Montreal. Take in the museum’s current displays while enjoying an ambient soundtrack and offerings of a cash bar.

Overdrive at the Drake Hotel

Holts Hot @ 175 Mobile Tour
Holt Renfrew continues the celebration of its 175th anniversary with a travelling magenta pop-up shop. First up is Toronto’s, King West aka TIFF central where you’ll find a selection of limited-edition sweatshirts, perfect comfort for the morning after. And should you be up and at ’em on Saturday morning, swing by their Bloor Street flagship at 11:30 for a personal appearance by Sir Elton John and David Furnish.
