There’s a Petition to Replace Lady Gaga for the Super Bowl Half-Time Show
We’re only a few days away from Lady Gaga taking the stage at sport’s most elaborate half-time show. But despite the rumoured horses and a dangerous high-flying stunt, not everyone is thrilled by the “Poker Face” singer’s Super Bowl debut.
A petition on Change.org is pleading for the NFL to change the show’s headliner, and it already has 58,000 signatures. But it’s nothing against Gaga—instead, it’s a shout-out to the music scenes in Atlanta and Houston, “two of the TRILLEST hip hop communities under ONE ROOF.”
What exactly do the petitioners want to see instead?
“Halftime should be Migos killing Bad and Boujee,” reads the petition. “Future kills em with March Madness, then Outkast comes out and does an AQUEMINI sampler and then they end it with BUN B and JAY Z DOING BIG PIMPIN!!!! If you’re gonna put on a show for billions THIS IS THE ONLY SHOW.”
The petition’s fantasy lineup also includes Atlanta natives Goodie Mob, Ludacris, Young Jeezy and Young Thug. We have to admit, it sounds like a pretty killer concert. But Lady Gaga has definitely earned the coveted spot, and there’s little chance that the show will be changed this late in the game.
Maybe Migos and Gaga will surprise us with a mash-up of “Bad and Bougee” and “Bad Romance”? Here’s hoping.
