This Capsule Collection is Helping Combat the Elephant Poaching Crisis
Maybe you’ve heard about the poaching crisis. Or perhaps ivory crisis? There’s an even better chance you’ve seen celebs like Doutzen Kroes or Lupita Nyong’o post about the #elephantcrisisfund or #savethelephants. Either way, the endangerment of elephants has come to the threatening point of extinction, and driving the killing of them is the international ivory trade. But with the help of companies like Hudson’s Bay, these special creatures are being saved, sustained and protected.
HBC teamed up with Ivory Ella, a clothing company with a mission to “create good clothes for a good cause” and inspire the next generation to help eliminate the elephant crisis to create a 13 piece limited edition collection that’s available online and at Hudson’s Bay stores. The collaboration features hooded sweatshirts, sweatpants and t-shirts, all printed with the Hudson’s Bay’s iconic multi-colour stripes and Ivory Ella’s elephant logo. Everything is priced between $22 and $99.
“The opportunity to expand internationally into the Canadian market and reach the Hudson’s Bay customer with our mission of saving elephants is a great next step for our company,” said Matt Fiano, Co-Founder of Ivory Ella. “This collaboration helps maintain beauty and diversity in nature and will support critical work being done to address the plight of elephants in Kenya.”

Hudson’s Bay’s Vice President of Design and Business Development Lucia Kinghorn says, “We are so proud of our new collaboration with Ivory Ella and excited to bring our customers a collection that supports such important work. The fashionable pieces not only look great, but also stand for a great cause.”
