Those Viral Dance Challenges Actually Made It to Drake’s Official “In My Feelings” Video
Long before this video came out, our Instagram feeds were dominated by people around the world leaping out of cars and dancing to Drake’s “In My Feelings,” off his new album Scorpion. The #InMyFeelingsChallenge, kicked off by online personality and comedian Shiggy on June 29, quickly went viral, with celebs like Will Smith, Ciara and Sterling Brown getting in on the action.
A bit over a month later, Drake releases the official video for the song, and what do you know—some of those viral clips make a special appearance. Shot in New Orleans by another Toronto native, Karena Evans, the “In My Feelings” video features LaLa Anthony (as the elusive Keke), Phylicia Rashad and Shiggy himself, as well as a slew of dancers. The video ends with Drake waking up from a dream— “I just had a dream that I made some song about some girl. I was from New Orleans, I had like a grill in my mouth. And then this kid from New York that spits when he talks all the time did some dance to it. And then the world did the dance, and Will Smith was there. Nobody would stop. It was terrible”—followed by a montage of the dance clips that became a social media sensation.
