TIFF 2015 celebrity beauty
Anna Kendrick
“Anna Kendrick is fierce and fiery and gone are the days of wearing a lip balm for this fashionista. This season, she should try wearing a daring red lip – something we all know she’d pull off (pitch) perfectly. A red hot pout would do her wonders.” –Paul Venoit

Ellen Page
“Ellen Page is all about the dramatic, dark eye makeup, but where’s the lipstick love? Darker lips have been making their way to the catwalks this year, from to Marc Jacobs. Not only are darker lips versatile for a casual or chic look, but they’re bold and sultry to boot. I recommend the Pure Matte Lipstick from NARS in Deep Aubergine. Ellen’s no stranger to going against the grain, so come on over to the dark side!” –Paul Venoit

Ellen Page loves embracing grunge and always has the model-off-duty look. We would like to see her with a short pixie cut and a bold red lip. Dark hair, pale skin with a red lip… gorgeous! –Darrell Redleaf

Helen Mirren
“Helen Mirren’s graceful and effortless beauty has been with her for, well…ever. One way to keep her shining from one red carpet to the next, is to use ‘strobing’ makeup techniques on her face. This growing (and glowing) makeup trend has been around for years but this season, we’ve seen even more attention on this contouring trend, partly thanks to the Kardashian sisters and runway inspiration like the Blumarine Spring 2015 show. We promise that strobing looks even better in real life and #nofilter is a must to show off that glowing hue.” –Paul Venoit

Helen Mirren has stunning silver hair. She should definitely keep it short for a more youthful look. –Darrell Redleaf

Jessica Chastain
“Jessica Chastain is known for her long, luscious red mane, but with her striking facial features, she should be taking a lot more high-level risks (literally). High ponytails are a great way to style second, or even third day hair that has the right amount of sheen to hold everything in place. The key is to use a dry shampoo such as Batiste Blush. Its rice starch-based formulation absorbs any excess oil at the roots, while still leaving hair manageable to style and tease as needed to get the volume needed for this look. Take a cue from Prada’s fall runway, and add a feminine clip for subtle sophistication.” –Paul Venoit

Jessica Chastain always has the same romantic waves. I’d like to see her try a collarbone cut with a fringe bang. –Darrell Redleaf

Julianne Moore
“Back in the ’90s, we were used to seeing Julianne Moore with a tight perm. It would be great to see her go back to a voluminous hair style to bring some life back into her locks. Julianne could cut off a few inches, texturize her layers and play around with some imperfect waves. My go-to is the Batiste XXL Volume Dry Shampoo for ensuring roots are lifted and hair looks refreshed.”

Julianne Moore doesn’t change her look often. She’s a stunning, classically beautiful woman, but she could definitely try going for a short, choppy, textured look. –Darrell Redleaf

TIFF 2015 celebrity beauty
Kate Winslet
“Kate Winslet is a classic beauty, hands down. Known for her well-defined brows, and natural makeup look, it’s time she took things up a notch. I’d encourage Kate to try a bold, dramatic eyeliner, à la Chanel Fall 2015. A bold liner is the perfect way to add some edge to your look, and unleash your inner badass. [And] eyeliner doesn’t always have to be black. It’s totally okay to play around with softer shades such as brown, or even bright colours like blue and purple. Try the Waterproof Shadow Liners from Smashbox.” –Paul Venoit

Kate Winslet often wears her hair blonde. It would be nice to see her go back to auburn and grow it out. –Darrell Redleaf

Kristen Stewart
“Kristen Stewart’s brunette hair and skin tone make her the perfect TIFF celebrity to try out something vibrant this season. We’re seeing trends towards colourful hair, like Hilary Duff or Kylie Jenner’s mermaid tresses. Kristen’s skin would look luminous against a greeny hue.”

Like Ellen Page, Kristen Stewart embraces the grunge look. I would like to see her look softer by taking out the edges of her cut and brushing it out to allow for more flow and movement. –Darrell Redleaf

Rachel McAdams
“I’m convinced that Rachel McAdams has never had a bad hair day – she’s often seen with retro curls or a fabulous updo. However, we have yet to see this Canadian beauty in a more laid-back look. This fall, we’re seeing models on the runway (think Michael Kors) with neatly tucked hair in a low textured ponytail. Hair will stay away from the skin and face, perfect for dealing with paparazzi and adoring fans.” –Paul Venoit

Rachel McAdams is a risk-taker when it comes to hairstyles. She could pull off shaving one side. –Darrell Redleaf

Rachel Weisz
“Rachel Weisz is often the belle of the ball, with her chocolate locks and berry lips. Although she’s always on trend, she can take it one step further and try adding a bit more shine to her shadows. Metallic eyeshadows can make anybody look like a rockstar.” –Paul Venoit

Aside from wanting to Rachel Weisz grow out her hair, in regards to makeup, she should try a darker lip this season. –Darrell Redleaf

Sandra Bullock
“Sandra Bullock is a woman who always steals the spotlight and looks great in pretty much anything. I’d love to see her accessorize her hair with beaded headbands or clips; this will give the simple hair the sparkle that it needs. This fall, elegant jewellery can go beyond the ears, neck and wrists.”

Sandra Bullock always works a straight hairstyle that is often too dark, in my opinion. I would add texture volume and highlights. And since she often wears it down, I would pull it back into a chignon for an elegant touch. –Darrell Redleaf

TIFF 2015 celebrity beauty
Sarah Silverman
“Who says silly girls can’t look polished and tamed? With her bold, black hair and personality, we’d love to see Sarah Silverman with a sleek do. Sarah can easily pull off straight glossy hair – a much needed change from her usual tousled waves or her fun ponytail.” –Paul Venoit

Sarah Silverman always has dark, long hair, so would love to see her try highlights to help give depth and dimension in photos – medium to chocolate brown highlights would do that. When it comes to makeup, she keeps it pretty neutral. A bold red lip would be a nice twist. –Darrell Redleaf
33/42
TIFF 2015 celebrity beauty
Emily Blunt
She looks best as a blonde! Since she usually wears it down in waves, she could pull off a super pin-straight ‘90s look. A sleek cut would look amazing on her. –Darrell Redleaf

TIFF 2015 celebrity beauty
Penelope Cruz
She looks great with her hair pulled off her face. Since she has such delicate features, she would look stunning in a sleek pulled back chignon or ponytail. To copy the look, secure your ponytail in place with bobby pins (if needed) and lightly mist with hairspray (we love Flow Impeccable Finish Fast Dry) to lock in the style. Time to depart the long glamourous waves – though they look stunning! –Darrell Redleaf

Susan Sarandon
She always has a deconstructed style. She would look good with honey caramel highlights to get away from her red signature look. A strawberry-blonde would also be a good idea. –Darrell Redleaf

Salma Hayek
She has a signature look – black hair and often brown highlights. A short, razor-textured cut would be super flattering. In terms of makeup, a deep tone lip colour like an oxblood or a plum lip would be a nice change. –Darrell Redleaf
