Toronto’s Burger’s Priest and Foodora Are Giving Away Free Burgers

If you’re not a fan of burgers (who are you?), you might have missed the fact that May has been dubbed National Burger Month. Cue the angel music. But for those of you who incorporate a slider into your diet on the reg (a.k.a most of the FASHION team), every month is burger month TBH.

In celebration of this glorious, glutinous month, Chef Shant Mardirosian of Toronto’s Burger’s Priest partnered up with Foodora to create a “secret” burger: The Canadian Maple Bacon Cheeseburger. This comes just before Canada’s 150th—perfect timing, if you ask us. The local hotspot and the online food-delivery company will be offering free (!) burgers at the pop-up shop on 461 Queen Street West on Wednesday, May 10, between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

But there’s a catch: You can only get a freebie if you guess the secret password. (Hint: The answer is a milestone for The Great White North.) However, if you do miss the chance to try out the Burger’s Priest’s latest creation, fear not. You can order the rich and sweet Canadiana-inspired burger on the Foodora app or on the website from May 12 to May 31 for $9 (+$1 for extra bacon).

Since this is the most wonderful time of the year for burger-loving foodies, we thought we’d also round up some of the Toronto’s top burger joints to help you commemorate National Burger Month. Because, yes, fashion girls do eat carbs. From classic drive-in spots like Johnny’s Burger and Golden Star to gourmet places (looking at you, Fring’s), here are the 11 best places to grab a burger in Toronto.
