Toronto’s MISFITSTUDIO Is Launching a Bunch of Pop-Ups This Month
Leaving a workout feeling like you’ve truly connected with your trainer is a pretty rare but absolutely wonderful feeling. When it comes to teachers with massive followings, Amber Joliat, founder of Toronto’s MISFITSTUDIO comes to mind. In fact, I’ve actually lost track of the amount of times I’ve heard a colleague or a friend-of-a-friend sing the praises of her unique workout method, which is a blend of yoga, pilates and dance.
Now, Joliat (who opened up shop in 2010) is launching MISFITSTUDIO pop-ups across Toronto, as well as Montreal and Vancouver. “Pop-ups provide exciting opportunities for expansion,” she says of the impetus behind the takeover. “They’re also a way for newbies to try the MISFITMETHOD, catch a taste and see if they like it.”
Below, all of the places you can catch MISFITSTUDIO this season.
Free Space Pop-Up (Toronto)
Morning classes will be held at this Trinity Bellwoods studio on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
MOCA Pop-Up (Toronto)
It’s only fitting that MISFITSTUDIO would hold classes in an art gallery. On May 2 and May 9 you can catch evening sessions at the Museum of Contemporary Art’s (MOCA) expansive space, which means more room to move as much as your heart desires without the fear of hitting your neighbour in the face.
Montreal Pop-Ups
MISFITSTUDIO instructors Rachel McLean and Caitlin Ryan will be teaching signature classes at both ELMNT Studio and LOIC on May 7.
Stackt Market Pop-Up (Toronto)
If you’ve yet to check out Stackt Market now’s the time. Classes will be held May 11 and May 18 at this buzzy new market space/community hub, with more slated for summer.
96 Ossington Pop-Up (Toronto)
If you missed out on MISFITSTUDIO’s super fun (and totally nostalgic) Get High trampoline class, you’re in luck. From May 15 to July 15 you’ll be able to try it out, in addition to reformer classes.
Vancouver Pop-Ups
For all the West Coasters: MISFITSTUDIO classes will take place once a week at TurF in Kitsilano, as well as at Werklab (starting May 23).
