Vancouver: Get Bollywood-perfect brows at Yaletown’s newest eyebrow specialists
India is one of those amazing, far-off lands I have yet to visit, but in the meantime, at least we’re not completely deprived of South Asian delights. I recently headed to Yaletown’s Bombay Brow Bar (1056 Mainland St., Vancouver, 604-683-BROW, bombaybrowbar.com), which recently hosted so-gorgeous-it-hurts Indian actress Freida Pinto during a break from shooting Rise of the Apes. Founder and ‘Ms. High-Brow,’ Ravy Mehroke showed me that sure, you can get a cheap threading job done in Little India, but there’s nothing that beats good service, a clean, super-cute (if a little OTT) atmosphere, and–get this–an eyebrow and forehead massage. Bombshell brows ($23) also includes a thorough brow shape analysis, an application of soothing rosewater eye gel and subtle makeup touch-up post-shaping, but what I liked best was that the brow technicians are all trained in waxing, threading, and of course, tweezing, so you can even pick your eyebrow technique poison.
