Vans and Karl Lagerfeld Team Up on Footwear and Apparel Collection
Looks like the fashion world’s love affair with skater culture is far from over with skate brand Vans teaming up with Karl Lagerfeld on a special capsule collection.
According to WWD, the black-and-white collection will remix Vans’ classic checkerboard pattern with a motif of Lagerfeld’s iconic profile, boucle fabric and a quilted letter K. It will reinterpret six Vans footwear classics, including the Sk8-Hi laceless platform, Old Skool laceless and the Classic Slip-On, all of which will be outfitted in leather and adorned with the K.
The collab will also include apparel, such as a T-shirt with the Kaiser wearing a checkerboard tie, a black-and-white raglan sleeve bomber, and a premium leather backpack with — you guessed it! — that quilted K.
Though the capsule will be presented at the Bread & Butter trade show in Berlin early September. It will be available as of Sept. 7 in Karl Lagerfeld boutiques internationally and select Vans accounts, as well as online with prices ranging from $40-$300.
Check out the collection below and prepare to see items from this capsule everywhere during fashion week!
