Twice a year, I have the pleasure of attending Bridal Market in New York City to select some of the most beautiful gowns for Kleinfeld Hudson’s Bay. Every year, the trends get more exciting, more daring and more playful. Brides nowadays are spoiled for choice. So, no matter how, where or when you want to get married, there is something perfect for you out there.
If you are walking down the aisle in 2017, here are some fun trends to keep in mind when shopping for your dream dress:
Sheer Lace
This trend is certainly not for everyone but if you can pull it off, it is a showstopper. Lace can come lined if the bride wishes to keep her father happy.
Contemporary Lace
If you want to have a modern take on a classic silhouette, why not try geometric lace? It’s current, but still so chic.
Sheer Panels
Often red carpet trends trickle down into bridal. Why not show a little skin without giving everything away?
MARK ZUNINO BRIDAL
Shades of nude tones stand out in an ivory sea. White wedding dresses will be forever timeless, but there is such an allure for a coloured wedding dress. Brides everywhere are turning to nude gowns as an alternative to traditional white.
Cape Veil
One of the most unique trends I saw in NYC was the cape veil. Why not make a dramatic entrance, without the possibility of ruining your perfect tresses?
