Winnipeg: Fantastically flirty

This summer, I had an adventure in New York City. I went alone and spent six interesting days in one gigantic city. I desperately wanted to do something that would terrify me, and having never been, terrifying was the most appropriate word.

Every morning I would wake up and decide what I was going to do for the day, but most importantly I had to decide what I was going to wear. Seeing that NYC is known for being one of, if not the, most fashion-savvy cities in the world, choosing an outfit involved a lot of thought.

I always ended up looking nicely put together, but there was one day when I was stopped at least seven times in the street because of one pretty little skirt that I brought from good ol’ Winnipeg.

I bought the skirt at Para Mix (108-100 Osborne St., 204-453-8626), a unique store that’s good for finding one-of-a-kind pieces from far-away places. The reason I loved it so much was because of its layered, almost crinoline-like tiers of flirty fabric. Not to mention its versatility. No girl can have enough skirts they can wear either day or night.  And if it can stop and make people stare in the Big Apple, I know I’m doing something right.
