Would You Carry the Trash Can Bag from Moschino’s Fall 2017 Capsule Collection?
When I arrived at the Moschino show in Milan last season, there was a split second when I thought I might not make it out alive. Swallowed by the crush of the crowd outside the venue, I figured I’d at least die doing something I loved. Needless to say, I made it through the doors and lived to tell the tale.
The devout following that Jeremy Scott has amassed is a testament not only to his zany Moschino runway collections but also his political and cultural views which seep into his shows. Fall 2017 was no different.
Shining the spotlight this season on the waste produced by the fashion industry (think about all the boxes that land on your own doorstep), he created a series of looks dubbed “Cardboard Couture”. Duct tape accents, bubble-wrap fabrics and “Fragile” stickers were all part of the look. He kept the theme going with collaged magazine pages turned into pants, suits and dresses, dry cleaning plastic gowns and garbage bags evening dresses.
As Scott’s t-shirt read, “Couture is an attitude, It’s not a price point.” Truly makes you think about what you leave behind in the name of fashion.
The hotly anticipated capsule collection that was released immediately following the show includes a teeny trash can bag. Would you wear it? See the gallery below for our 10 favorite pieces available now.
