You Can Actually Own a Piece of Schitt’s Creek’s Iconic Wardrobe

There are few television shows whose deft and confident use of fashion as a storytelling tool is talked about just as much as the substance of the show itself. Schitt’s Creek, which just wrapped filming its final season, is one of them. From Vogue to Vulture to us right here at FASHION, the costuming on the show has been endlessly examined, dissected and lauded. McQueen! Wang! Owens! Marant! It was the gift that kept on giving.

“To be able to wear these absolutely outrageous outfits every day was such a treat,” Annie Murphy, who plays Alexis Rose, told FASHION in our October cover story. Now, you have the chance to actually own one of those outrageous outfits, thanks to a massive online sale via Toronto store VSP Consignment.

Over 800 pieces from the show will hit the site at 12pm EST on October 3, so get your credit cards ready. “It’s a mix of designer pieces and also really great memorabilia that any fan would be able to recognize. For example, Moira’s crow costume!” says Marlowe Granados, VSP’s Content & Collaboration Manager.

In the five seasons that Schitt’s Creek has been on the air, Johnny, Moira, David and Alexis have become not just symbols of warmth and love in an increasingly messed-up world but style icons in their own right: David for his leather sweaters and androgynous skirt-trouser hybrids, Alexis for her boho chic dresses, Moira for her show-stopping monochrome ensembles and Johnny for his immaculately tailored suits.

“VSP was a natural place to showcase the caliber of the show’s wardrobe as opposed to a regular industry wardrobe sale,” says Granados. “It happened very organically, through mutual friends of the owner, Britt Rawlinson, and Dan Levy. They could have easily brought the sale to the US, but I think with the show being Canadian it was important that they chose a Canadian establishment.”

You can take a (tiny) peek at the selection here:

Pieces will be available on VSP’s website, and can be shipped worldwide or picked up in store. Prices start at $150 with an average price point of $398. According to VSP, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network), whose mission is to create safe and affirming schools for all, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression. A chance to own a piece of beloved TV history and it’s for a good cause? Go forth, shop away. Just promise you’ll enter every room with the confidence of television’s Moira Rose:
